grasp of product potential, use of advice and resources,
evidence of clear business

system, or function, which has led to significantly improved
profitability, or an outstanding difference to
the company’s operation. |

ten full-time staff. Judges are looking for a clear business
plan and the ability to demonstrate achievement of business
objectives. Clear understanding of the market and
customers’ needs must be shown.

| Nominations for this award can come from
anyone working in an office, shop or factory who sees a member
of the team constantly doing their best, possibly against
the odds and probably in need of more recognition. They may
not carry a mobile phone, but the team could be in a mess
without them. |

This is where the public comes in. If
you have received outstanding treatment when all you were
expecting was hassle, this is the award for you! The judges
will be looking for cases where customers are treated with
care, courtesy and respect. Dealing with this company,
shop or team is a treat.

Judges want an insight into what the manager thinks makes
them so special – it must be

significant contribution to the business, commitment to
team working and mutual support and respect.

Judges are looking for an individual
or team who have best demonstrated how a creative marketing/
promotional campaign can be used to forward their business
significantly. Entries should include examples of the campaign
(min. of 3 visuals) and include an explanation of the thought
behind it, and evidence of
its success.

This award will go to an individual who
has a proven track record in sales. This individual will
need to demonstrate their commitment, effort and achievement.
Entries should include documentation to substantiate and
illustrate territory/customer base growth; revenue performance
and customer care skills.

This category attempts to identify companies
who have created or adapted their working practices to
conserve resources and maximise efforts to enhance green
values. Written evidence to support your application along
with pictures if possible. Examples and testimonials would
also help the entry.

| Judges choosing the winner of our blue riband
award are looking for a clear business plan and achievement
of stated business objectives. An understanding of the market
and how the company meets the needs of its customers must
be shown (evidence of training and development of the workforce,
and then understanding and commitment of staff of all levels
towards the business vision, are key criteria). Judges will
also take
account of a positive commitment to the local
community. |
